January, 2007
Sundays - Worship Services at 10:30AM; see below for varying location.
On October 15, 2006, Harvest Church began meeting for worship on Sunday Mornings at 10:30AM at Century Jr. High School (map), just off Highway 97 on the south side of Forest Lake. Century Jr. High is just 6 miles up Highway 61 from downtown Hugo. For directions, see the 'Directions/Contact Us' page.
However, due to previous scheduling of the Century Jr. High School building, it is unavailable to us for certain Sundays early in the year. On these Sundays, we will meet at alternate locations. Please make note of these dates and remember to check back here to make sure you go to the right place.
Date Location January 7 Alternate 1 - Southwest Jr. High School January 14 Usual - Century Jr. High School January 21 Alternate 1 - Southwest Jr. High School January 28 Usual - Century Jr. High School February 4 Alternate 2 - Hugo City Hall February 11 to March 4 Usual - Century Jr. High School March 11 Alternate 3 - Lakes International Language Academy (just 1/2 mile north of Century Jr. High) Click for map Thereafter, until further notice: Usual - Century Jr. High School
Lakes International Language Academy (known to some as the "Spanish Immersion School") is located at 246 11th Ave SE (map), just 1 block east of Highway 61 (11th Avenue is the next stoplight north of Highway 97). Or, from Century Junior High, go north across Highway 97 on 8th Str SE for 1/2 mile, then turn left at 11th Avenue and travel west 5 blocks. Park on the west side of the complex and enter at the door near the southwest corner, next to the gymnasium.
The usual alternate site, Southwest Junior High, is not far from Century. It is located, you guessed it, in southwest Forest Lake, just south of Target at 943 9th Ave SW. (Click for map) Directions: Coming from Century Jr. High, go north on Highway 61 and turn left at the next stoplight (11th Avenue). Go west about 3/4 mile to a 4 way stop sign (12th street). Turn right and go one block. It is the large building to the right. Coming from the north, it is just south of Walmart and Target, on the other side of the street. Enter on the east side of the building, use the entrance to the left. We make use of the caferteria, down the hall to the right. The service will typically be delayed a bit, to start at 10:35AM.
On February 4, Harvest Church will be at the Hugo City Hall building in downtown Hugo, the town of our origin and where we have had special services in the past. The address is 14669 Fitzgerald Ave N, one block west of Highway 61. (Click for map) Parking is on the west side of the building. The service will start about 10:30. Please note: Due to limited facilities at the Hugo City Hall building, there will only be nursery care though age 3 during the service. There will not be any Children's Church for those older than 3.

Not only will it explain the principles that Harvest Church was founded
on and continues to rest on, it will answer questions like these.....
Why do some people leave the church? Why is it sometimes hard to find close friends within the church? Why do people fight at church board meetings? What is the proper way to deal with sin within the church? Why isn't the church going the way I want it to? What is church discipline? Why aren't people more friendly at church? Why does it seem like the decisions are made by just a few people and not the entire church? What is a deacon? What does the pastor do during the week? How can I be more involved? Where is Harvest Church going? Come join us as we explore the Church together from God's Word.

**** Introducing **** Interim Pastor Bob Brueggen
Pastor Bob Brueggen has joined us in ministry while Pastor Charles is away. Pastor Bob started his ministry with Harvest Church on August 1, and besides preaching duties he has been busy getting to know people and working toward further developing our small groups ministry for this fall. Pastor Bob has most recently served as Pastor of Adult Ministries at First Evangelical Free Church in Maplewood, MN, the 'mother' church of Harvest Church. A short biography of Bob and family follows:
Bob & Dottie Brueggen live in Woodbury and have been married for 26 years. They have three children: Bethany (19), Matthew (15) and Jonathan (12). Dottie is a RN at Woodwinds Hospital and Bob has been in ministry for over 20 years and served churches in Nebraska, Michigan and Minnesota. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska (BS, 1979), Grace Theological Seminary (ThM, 1986), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (DMin, 2006). Bob enjoys traveling with his family, reading, college football, outdoor activities but most of all being with family and good friends. His passion is to bring lives to Christ and Christ into everyday living. His life quest is to live for the good of others and the glory of God (Galatians 1:24).
Pastor Bob served with Harvest Church until March 1, 2007, when he began a full time position at Five Oaks Church in Woodbury.

Sundays
October 1, Worship Service at 6:00PM at New Life Church
Last service at 6:00PM at New Life church building ... October 8, Worship Service at 6:00PM at New Life Church - Communion, as part of the worship service
Here it is: The Big Announcement ...
Please Note: "Permanent" Change in Worship Service Time and Location
Beginning October 15, Harvest Church is now meeting for worship on Sunday Morning at 10:30AM at Century Jr. High School (map), just off Highway 97 on the south side of Forest Lake. Century Jr. High is just 6 miles up Highway 61 from downtown Hugo. For directions, see the 'Directions/Contact Us' page.
This change in worship time and location starts a new chapter in the life of Harvest Church. We believe this move will allow us to better serve the people of Hugo, by providing a Sunday morning worship opportunity, and now, with this new location, allow us to better serve the people of Forest Lake. While we will not be changing the fundamentals of Harvest Church, we are using this time as an opportunity to re-evaluate all we do. Come join us for this "new start".
This also means that after October 8th, we will no longer be having a Sunday evening service at New Life Church in Hugo.
Please note that previous scheduling makes the Century Jr. High School building unavailable to us for certain Sundays after the first of next year. On those days, we expect we will be using another school building in Forest Lake as an alternate location, and the service time will remain the same. Please make note of this, then listen for further announcements or watch this page for notice of any change of location.
