About the EFCA

During the summer months, we will offer nursery care for children under three years old during the entire service, and a children church opportunity during the worship service message for those children up through having completed second grade this year.

Ask a greeter or usher about locations or any other questions you might have.

We at Harvest love children and we seek to have wonderful programs for kids.

The year around ministry we have for children is on Sunday morning during the worship service.  There is a nursery group for children under three years old during the entire service. And, we have three groups of older children who are dismissed mid-service. These include a class for pre-kindergarten children age three and up, another group for children from kindergarten through second grade, and one for children in third through fifth grade. Qualified children workers will be leading these times.

In the summer we have had backyard Bible club meetings. These took place at the homes of a couple of Harvest Church families in the Hugo area. The Bible club meetings included fun activities for the children as well as age-appropriate Bible teaching times. And, of course, fun snacks and treats. Thanks to all those who helped make these be a great summer event for many children in the Hugo area.

During two of the past summers we had God-Chasers at our pastor's rural Hugo home. This was an every-three/four-weeks summer opportunity when children, ages 2 to 16, learned about God, played games, sang and had a campfire. It was a great time for the children as they had an opportunity to spend time with the church's pastor. The second year, supper for the children was included, as this was designed to also provide the parents of these children an opportunity for an evening together. See more details on a recent summer's program. Thanks go to the Causeys for hosting this event, and to those who pitched in to help them

We plan to do similar summertime activities in the years to come.

David Brumbaugh is our youth ministry coordinator. He will be working with others in the church congregation to develop a vibrant ministry among our youth. Tentative plans include a youth Bible study on Thursday evenings, as well as other activities that will be enjoyed by our youth and help them to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Talk with David at church or check back here for more information as this ministry takes shapes and develops further.
